Every room offers a private unit with your own “en suite” bathroom, and many spaces throughout the home provide a place to relax and enjoy company. This home has over a hundred years of history. Discover the care we put into our new renovations that restored original features. Our rooms are well-appointed, newly remodeled, and reflect the nature of our mountain surroundings.
Our Breakfast
A delicious gourmet breakfast is served every morning from 8 to 10am. We use fresh ingredients from local farms where we can. Our breakfast options include a hot entree served with daily baked goods, farm fresh hard-boiled eggs, seasonal fruit, yogurt, home-made granola, and breakfast sides. Choose a refreshing beverage of coffee, tea, juice, or milk. Our menu offers something for everyone. We understand dietary restrictions, and work to accommodate them. I've stayed at many places in Berkeley Springs, Robert and Nickole's place is my favorite. It was bright (but with curtains effective in allowing sleeping in), beautifully decorated, cool despite the July heat, and immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the TV was high-quality, and the in-room mini-fridge and coffee maker were appreciated. The bathroom, too, gave the crisp, indulgent vibe we'd been looking for. For me what stood out was how quiet it was, being just far enough away from the main drag to make the truck traffic a non-issue. Grand Castalian is a wonderful newly opened inn in Berkely Springs WV. The inn is newly renovated and done beautifully. Rooms are tastefully decorated - each with a fun theme - and have everything you need. The Castalian is situated in a perfect location - 5-minute walk to the center of town and public springs, but in a quiet spot outside the bustle of downtown. The historic home is impressive with touches of both vintage/Victorian and restored hardwood coupled with modern bathrooms designed to be luxurious. With nice touches like 24x7 cookies, tea and coffee available and a variety of sitting spaces, including a wrap around porch with ample seating, it is truly a restful experience. A relative new-comer compared to some of the more established inns in the area, the Grand Castalian was purchased, renewed, and enhanced to create a fresh new lodging experience. Each room has been lovingly designed to follow several fun themes. During our stay we were swept back to the 50’s in the drive-in theater room. A huge projector TV was right in front of the bed, joined by a bedside popcorn machine - allowing us to decadently relax. Each aspect of the room tied in well with LP shaped popcorn bowls. The linens were heaven while the bathroom was even better, with a large jacuzzi tub and every amenity you could imagine. Each morning one of the owners, Bob, greeted us with an amazing fresh, healthy, local, and delicious breakfast. Honestly we rarely had room for lunch most days!
